What is the SBI Asha Scholarship?

The SBI Asha Scholarship is one of India's largest scholarship programmes. It provides financial assistance to talented students from economically weaker backgrounds, so that money is never the reason a deserving student has to pause or stop studying. The support spans the full education journey — from school (Class 9 onwards), through undergraduate and postgraduate study in India, to professional courses at medical colleges, IITs and IIMs, and even Master's-level study abroad.

The scholarship is awarded for one academic year at a time, and can be renewed each year for the remaining duration of your course, as long as you continue to meet the eligibility conditions (see the Renewals section).

Who runs the Programme?

The Programme is run by SBI Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of the State Bank of India. SBI Foundation was established by the State Bank of India in 2015 to carry out its social and community initiatives, of which the SBI Asha Scholarship is one.
