Are there reserved seats?
Yes. To keep the Programme inclusive, seats are reserved within each category:
- 50% of seats for female candidates.
- 50% of seats for SC/ST candidates (25% SC and 25% ST).
- 5% of seats for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) — meaning 40% or more of a specified disability under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
What happens if reserved seats aren't filled?
Unfilled seats are reallocated so they aren't wasted: unfilled female seats may go to male candidates; unfilled SC seats may go to ST and vice versa; and unfilled SC/ST seats may be allocated to OBC and then General candidates, as per Programme rules.
Do I need to do anything to be considered under reservation?
Yes — upload the relevant certificate (for example, a caste or disability certificate) so your reserved-category status can be verified. See the documents articles for what's needed.
