Why is Aadhaar verification needed?

Aadhaar verification helps confirm your identity during the application process. It reduces the risk of fraudulent or duplicate applications and ensures that the scholarship is awarded to genuine applicants.

Verification is completed through an OTP-based authentication process using an authorised, UIDAI-compliant service provider.

Will my full Aadhaar number be stored?

The Programme follows data-minimisation principles and aims to avoid storing your full Aadhaar number wherever possible. Instead, it relies on the outcome of the verification process to confirm your identity.

Is my consent required?

Yes. Your explicit consent is obtained before Aadhaar verification is initiated. By providing your consent, you authorize the Programme to verify your Aadhaar details solely for the purpose of processing your scholarship application.

Important

Aadhaar verification is conducted only as part of the scholarship application process. For more information on how your personal information is collected, used, and handled, please refer to the SBI Asha Scholarship Privacy Policy.
