Does being waitlisted guarantee selection?

No. Being placed on the waitlist does not guarantee selection. Waitlisted applicants remain under consideration and may be offered a scholarship only if vacancies arise - for instance, if a selected candidate does not complete verification, withdraws, or is found ineligible, or if seats remain unfilled within a specific category or reservation quota. In such cases, the next eligible candidate on the waitlist, based on the ranking within that category, is considered to fill the vacant seat.

Movement from the waitlist, depends entirely on whether and how many such vacancies arise, and is not assured. Students on the waitlist should continue to track official communications for updates on their status, but should treat their waitlist position as provisional rather than confirmed until a formal selection is communicated to them.
