Why does my Institution Matter?
For higher-education categories, the SBI Asha Scholarship is intended for students studying at premier and recognised institutions. Therefore, the institution where you are studying is an important part of the eligibility criteria.
Depending on the scholarship category, your institution may need to meet specific ranking or accreditation requirements. This helps ensure that the scholarship is offered to students studying at eligible and recognised institutions.
Which Institutions Qualify?
The institution requirements vary depending on the category:
- UG / PG (including Medical): Applicants must be studying at a premier institution in India that is among the Top 300 in the NIRF Overall Rankings or is accredited with NAAC 'A' grade or above.
- Overseas: Applicants pursuing postgraduate or higher-level courses must be studying at an institution that is listed within the Top 200 of the QS World University Rankings and THE World University Rankings (2025–26).
- Medical: Applicants must be studying at AIIMS or one of the Top 50 medical colleges listed in the NIRF rankings.
