What is the Family-Income Limit?
The annual family-income limit depends on the scholarship category you are applying under:
- School applicants: Family income must be up to ₹3,00,000 per year.
- College and higher-education applicants (UG, PG, Medical, IIT, IIM, and Overseas): Family income must be up to ₹6,00,000 per year.
Applicants who do not meet the applicable income limit may not be eligible for the scholarship.
What counts as family income, and how do I prove It?
Family income refers to the combined gross annual income of the applicant's family from all applicable sources. This information must be supported by a valid income certificate issued by the Revenue Department or another authorised government authority.
The income certificate should be valid as of the scholarship application start date. Before uploading the document, applicants should check that it is valid and that the details mentioned in it are clear and accurate.
What if I am an Orphan?
If you are an orphan, applicants are still required to provide the necessary family income details as part of the application process. If you do not have a family income certificate, you may use the Orphan / No-Income Declaration template available in the application portal, wherever applicable.
