Who can apply
Indian nationals studying in Classes 9 to 12 who meet the minimum marks and family-income requirements.
- Minimum marks: 75% marks or a CGPA of 7.5 in the previous academic year (relaxations below).
- Family income: gross annual family income up to ₹3,00,000, supported by an income certificate from a Revenue or other competent government authority.
- Minors: applicants under 18 must apply with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who provides consent through the form and an OTP sent to the parent.

Documents specific to this category
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Proof of identity (Aadhaar / PAN / Passport / Voter ID / Driving Licence)
- Family income proof (income certificate from a competent government authority)
- Previous-year or previous-class marksheet
- Bonafide certificate confirming current enrolment
- SBI bank passbook showing name, account number, IFSC, and branch
- Caste certificate (if claiming SC/ST/OBC/EWS provisions)
- Disability certificate (if you have marked PwD as Yes)
If you study at a government school and pay no fees, you can submit a letter from your school confirming enrolment and that no fees are charged, instead of a fee receipt.
How selection works for this category
Selection is based on your previous-year grades, and is merit and need based.
Reservation and relaxations
These apply across all categories:
- 50% of seats are reserved for female candidates.
- 50% of seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates (25% SC and 25% ST).
- For new cohorts, 5% of seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), meaning 40% or more of a specified disability under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
Marks relaxations:
- SC/ST applicants: a minimum of 65%/ 6.50 CGPA
- PwBD applicants: a minimum of 60% / 6.00 CGPA.
To claim a relaxation, upload a valid caste certificate or disability certificate as applicable.
