Which documents do I need?

The documents you need depend on your category, but some are required by everyone. The form shows your exact list as you fill it, and most documents have a sample you can preview. Prepare clear scans before you reach the Documents section.

Documents everyone needs

- Recent passport-size photograph

- Proof of identity (Aadhaar / PAN / Passport / Voter ID / Driving Licence)

- Family income proof (income certificate from a competent government authority — it must be valid as of the application start date)

- Bonafide certificate (or institute/school ID) confirming current enrolment

- SBI bank passbook (showing name, account number, IFSC, branch)

- Your most recent marksheet (previous class, semester, or year, as applicable)

If they apply to you (any category)

- Caste certificate — if claiming SC / ST / OBC / EWS provisions

- Disability (PwD) certificate — if you have marked PwD = Yes

School (Class 9–12)

- Previous class marksheet

- If you attend a government school and pay no fees: a self-declaration (in place of a fee receipt) confirming enrolment and that no fees are charged

Undergraduate

- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets

- Fee structure and latest fee receipt

Postgraduate (Master's)

- Graduation (UG) marksheets

- Fee structure and latest fee receipt

Medical (MBBS)

- NEET scorecard (score and rank)

- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets

- Fee structure and latest fee receipt

Undergraduate at IIT

- JEE Advanced scorecard / rank

- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets

- Fee structure and latest fee receipt

MBA at IIM

- CAT scorecard (score / percentile)

- Graduation (UG) marksheets

- Fee structure and latest fee receipt

Overseas (Master's-and-above abroad) — required

- Passport-size photograph

- Proof of identity — Aadhaar (both sides)

- Education loan sanction letter / other scholarship acceptance letter

- Death certificate / divorce decree / affidavit

- Disability (PwD) certificate, if you have marked PwD = Yes

- English-proficiency scorecard (IELTS / TOEFL / other)

- Statement of Purpose (SOP)
