Who can apply

Indian nationals pursuing a master's or higher programme at a qualifying overseas institution.

  • Qualifying institution: postgraduate and above courses at institutions in the Top 200 of the QS/THE World University Rankings 2025-26.
  • Minimum marks: 75% marks or a CGPA of 7.5 in the previous academic year (relaxations below).
  • Family income: gross annual family income up to ₹6,00,000, supported by an income certificate from a competent government authority.

Entrance or test details needed

A standardised test score (GRE, GMAT, MCAT, or LSAT as applicable) and an English-proficiency score (IELTS 6.5 or above, or TOEFL). Keep both scorecards ready to upload.

How selection works for this category

Selection uses a weighted score: 70% based on your standardised tests (GRE / GMAT / MCAT / LSAT, and IELTS 6.5+ / TOEFL) and 30% based on the QS ranking of your institution.

Reservation and relaxations

These apply across all categories:

  • 50% of seats are reserved for female candidates.
  • 50% of seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates (25% SC and 25% ST).
  • For new cohorts, 5% of seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), meaning 40% or more of a specified disability under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Marks relaxations:

  • SC/ST applicants: a minimum of 65% / 6.50 CGPA.
  • PwBD applicants: a minimum of 60% / 6.00 CGPA.

To claim a relaxation, upload a valid caste certificate or disability certificate as applicable.
